Managing the publishing process

One of key goals of a Web content management system is to coordinate editing activities among large groups of authors. With coordination in this context, we refer to the following activities:
  • Controlling access to resources for read, write, or delete
  • Managing different versions of libraries, design, and content
  • Allowing users to contribute and review content in an organized way
  • Locking shared resources while they are edited
  • Providing tools to ensure consistency between different content items

In the following articles in this section, we discuss WCM Security, Workflow Using Collaborative Editing Tools, and managing components.
