TECH-D06 Social Rendering: Combine IBM Web Content Manager with IBM Connections to Render Social Data on Your Portal Pages
Juergen Schaeck, Technical Lead for IBM Connections Integration in WebSphere Portal
This session covers in detail the new Social Rendering feature introduced in IBM WebSphere Portal V8.0 update. Social Rendering enables you to use IBM Web Content Manager to define individual social lists that retrieve specific social data from a remote IBM Connections server. The selection logic of what social data to show (for example, the list of recent blog posts of a particular community) and the visual appearance of the resulting social lists can be controlled by means of IBM Web Content Manager components. This enables you to enrich your portal pages with social information that is visualized in your desired look and feel.
This session will cover the aspects of the Social Rendering feature with detailed information about how:
• Administrators enable and configure it.
• Site designers control the markup generated for individual entries in your social lists.
• Page editors easily create social portal pages using simple drag and drop operations.
• Site visitors benefit from social data that is made available on your portal pages.
In addition, you will see demonstrations of all key functions of Social Rendering live on stage. (Level: Introductory)
