Use these worksheets when configuring a base portal into a primary base node on a federated server configuration. These panels set up the names, home directories and other information for creating an IBM WebSphere Aplication Server for the portal.

Before configuring WebSphere Portal for z/OS as the primary base node of the network deployment cell you should configure the WebSphere Deployment Manager for use with Portal. Use the first worksheet to plan this deployment.

To see these panels in the Customization Dialog:

  1. Select "Basic configuration tasks".
  2. Select "Configure base portal into a federated WebSphere application server profile".
  3. Select "Configure Deployment Manager".
  4. Select "Define variables".

Configure Deployment Manger for use with WebSphere Portal

This panels asks for the directories of the WebSphere Portal and Deployment Manager to ensure communication between the two servers.

Once you have configured the deployment manager, proceed to the primary node deployment.
