The Portal Document Manager counter tool
analyzes WebSphere Portal Document Manager V6.0 libraries to determine
the number of folders, documents, drafts, versions, and views. The counter
tool also provides the maximum, minimum, and average file size of library
entities and the total size of libraries.
To install the counter tool, do the following:
Important: You must install this portlet on
the server where you have WebSphere Portal Document Manager V6.0 installed.
This portlet does not analyze libraries for versions other than WebSphere
Portal V6.0.
1. Log in to WebSphere Portal as an administrator.
2. Select
Administration >
Portlet
Management >
Web Modules.
The
Manage Web Modules portlet displays.
3. Select
Install, then browse to the location
of the portlet WAR file and click
Next. A
message displays to inform you if the portlet installed successfully.
4. Add the portlet to a portal page.
After you add the portlet to a portal page, it automatically loads a list
of all available libraries in Portal Document Manager.

To analyze your WebSphere Portal Document Manager V6.0 libraries, do the
following:
1. Select the libraries you want to analyze.
2. Click
Load to calculate the number and
size of the entities in your libraries. For example, to calculate the number
and size of the folders, documents and so on.
3. Click
Counter to calculate the total size
for your libraries.
