Note: The actual users and groups that you use in your Rich Media Edition environment are determined by the portal and MediaBeacon administrators. The predefined users and groups that are described here are not defined in the portal. If you want to use these users and groups in the portal, you must add them to portal user registry separately.
The following sample users are defined by default:
This user ID is used for general user access to MediaBeacon from Web Content Manager. Typical tasks for this user include retrieving and adding assets to web content. The initial password for this ID is mediabeacon. This user is a member of the Content Users group.contentadmin
This user ID is used for administrator access to MediaBeacon for content administration tasks, including managing digital content, contributing content, and editing content. The initial password for this ID is mediabeacon. This user is a member of the Content Administrators group.manager
This user ID provides global administrator access to MediaBeacon. This user can complete all administrative tasks that are required for the MediaBeacon server, including administering users. The password for this user is set on the Admin tab in the MediaBeacon console.
The access rights that are initially defined for the default groups are tailored for the typical tasks of the user role. You can modify the access control lists (ACLs) for these groups in MediaBeacon to give users more access or restrict their access. For more information about ACLs and how to modify them for users and groups, see the MediaBeacon documentation.
