We have two Quickr servers in separate locations that are running different releases. The production Quickr is still running 8.2 and we have a development Quickr running 8.5.
On both servers, we run qptool archive from a program document at 20:00 each night to archive the (approx 15) places on to the file system. The two versions archive into different directories.
We are then trying to use Vice Versa to keep the two sets of places in sync across the two quickr servers: purely so we can keep a separate copy of the archive on another server.
When Vice-versa runs, at 05:00, it fails to sync the place archives: saying that another process has each file open. As I said, the qptool program document runs at 20:00 each night and vice-versa is running at 05:00, so there is no reasonable expectation that qptool could still be running - on both servers. When run manually, qptool archive takes a couple of minutes and the file can then be moved.
If I try to move one of the archive files using Windows Explorer, I can't, for the same reason. "is in use by another program"
So, it looks like when qptool is run from a program document, it leaves something behind that keeps the archive open.
