I think you can also create a notes link document in each place folder.
it depends on how many widgets you are dealing with, if only a few widgets notes documents and place folders, then you can do it manually.
If too many, maybe you can create a Agent to do the job if some mapping rules can be found between your notes documents and the place folders...
