I am using SUSE 11 and I could not resolve it yet.
I placed a robot.txt to disallow bots to get into dm/*, now google bot does not send the malformed URL. I prevented crashes this way.
But when I call those URL's manually, it still crashes. I am concerned about some bots will disregard robots.txt and send the same malformed url.
Did you try the same url? You may block google bots by IP to test it.
