- "an update - after further googling I decided to give virtualbox (rather than hyper-v) a try, have never used a virtual machine approach before, and it worked like a charm, 123 1.1 is now up and running on my w8/64 system, in an xp virtual machine environment... I really can't believe how well this approach works, and how snappy and fast the vm is under w8/64. it was a snap to set up, not to mention vb is free, open source. also, virtualbox's "seamless mode" does a fantastic job in terms of integration, it feels like the vm is simply another open w8 window as opposed to a clunky vm viewer. anyway, thanks again for your help!"
