Fish Paste 4.Sep.09 11:00 AM a Web browser Approach All Releases All Platforms
Firstly I am not an Approach user - but a client of ours is trying to export a database of his for us. He is using Lotus Approach 97 and we ideally would like to open the data in a spreadsheet package such as Excel or Open Office..
He has tried to export the file by following these instructions found on the web:
With the Approach file open choose, "File\Export Data" brings up the Export window.
Enter a "File Name".
Change "Export Type" to *.xls ( almost the last on the list)
Select the "Database fields" to export.
Click "Export" button.
..all seems to go well up until this point.. But he says the software is then asking him to select/point to a Workbook file..
Is this correct or has he done something wrong..? (he's 60 miles away so I can't actually see what he's doing)..
He's also tried just saving the database file.. but he says all it seems to create is a small link file of a few KB.. where the database has about 15,000 sets of data.. so it will presumably be a few Mb...
any help would be most helpfull
