My problem is with WordPro's facing pages and mirror pages.
I need to have a different layout for my left and my right pages, with standard information on the top and at the right of every right page, and different information at the top of every left page.
At the end of a division, there will be different contents to this information.
So far so good; I can place frames to show on every page.
However, I cannot get DIFFERENT frames to show on left and right pages.
I cannot even create a basic frame-free style which will mirror the margins on facing pages; as soon as I click "Reset to style" my page is reset to some margins which I never created -- not even the margins used for the facing pages, just something completely different. The headers and footers also appear different to what I set them to.
If I "redefine style" based on my current page, it doesn't help; when I reset after that, it goes back to the same old thing which I don't want.
Even if I create a new style based on the way the page looks, red dots appear next to many of the attributes in the properties box as if changes have been made to the page.
This happens in SmartSuite 9 as well as in version 9.6.
I posted this problem in a different way in 2003 but got no response back then.
I have tried to create a book using Corel Ventura, OpenOffice and several other programs and eventually returned to WordPro, which seems to have fewer bugs for what I need to do -- except for this bug. (Is it a bug?) I am at a loss. I need to make a book and use proper long document features like cross-references, etc., etc. And I just can't find anything which is both bug-free and user friendly.
