RE: lotus approach and Windows 7 Larryd Davis 29.Oct.09 08:51 PM a Web browser Approach 9.8All Platforms
I just upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and have been unable to install Lotus Smart Suite 9.8.1 from my CD. I get an "error accessing the system registry" followed by "unexpected error; quitting". This is especially disappointing since I ran the "check for compatibility program from Microsoft" before upgrading and Lotus was passed by that program as being compatible. The things it said I needed to address I fixed such as changing from Windows Mail to Windows Live Mail. I was able to get an updated antivirus program from Trend Micro too, so I thought I was ready to go. I have yet to find any reference that Windows 7 even exists here on IBM's site except for this forum.
If I have to switch to another database because Lotus Approach won't work with Win 7 I'll have to try to install the virtual XP program and hope to at least export my data into another DB format file so I can import it into something that will run on Win 7.
