We had Lotus Sametime 8.5.1 running on Domino 8.5.1 (without SSC). Due to some issues, we were asked to reinstall the server by IBM support and we thought we would go for SSC this time (to have ST Proxy). So we installed SSC and Domino 8.5.2 FP2 and then ST Community Server 8.5.2. Everything went fine. But today, the first production day after installation, when many of the users logged on to the server, no one was able to chat with others. It was throwing the error that the message timed out. When we checked the Domino console, it was showing a lot of messages saying that it opened & closed session for users, which we usually see on the mail server when users replicate their mail.
Now this ST server is in the same Domino domain but there is no mail file on the server. Also it is not part of the mail server cluster. IBM support is saying that because of this load (opening & closing sessions) ST server is not able to provide chat. I've never seen such messages on the ST server.
Any idea why would that messages be put on the console (I'm not sure whether they come when the user replicates her mails).
The production server was down for the whole day today and still :-(
