If I understand this correctly , yes it wodl be better for eahc of the servers to resolve to an LDAP directory that is local to them - as long as the underlieing data / directory is identical.

If ou have LDAP servers in those geographical loations it would be best to create separate da.nsf and stconfig.nsf ldap entries for them. Otherwise one of the serves will go over the WAN to do all authentication requests - that would be a very inefficient design.
