Rob Berendt 15.Aug.12 04:02 PM a Web browser
Administration 8.5.2 IFR1 Windows

IBM is telling me to not use Java 1.7 on my Windows clients who are using IE to connect to the Community based version of the web meeting server. Java versions prior to, and including, 1.7.0_3 "may" work but some version of 1.6 is preferred. Claim it is an Oracle issue and that Oracle is admitting it. Work arounds include:
- using Firefox instead of IE.
- Downgrading Java
- Wait for fix from Oracle.
Best to stick with "supported" combinations.
I can tolerate the "supported" to a point. I do expect fixes in a somewhat timely fashion. For example if some site said I had to be running IE3 or earlier I'd laugh them out of the water. I've switched vendors in the past for not staying current with levels of OS, and on much bigger iron than Windows platforms...
