Check the logs on the device. I have the same problem when going via the TURN and SIP Edge proxy on the mobile device. Android logs show what I believe to be SSLV3 errors. My guess (which IBM hasn't been terribly helpful to confirm/deny) is that SSLV3 is still enabled on the apps servers and Android doesn't allow it any more which causes problems.
Oddly it works when connecting on the internal wifi and not going via the Edge components.
Share the logs here. Make sure the address for TURN and SIP Edge proxy has a PTR so that ping -a IP_ADDRESS resolves to the host name.
