We are seeing problems when sharing Excel files and Powerpoint files. We have found a workaround, but we need a better solution before rolling out Sametime to 3000+ users. When sharing a program, you get a list of programs to share. If you have 2 powerpoint presentations open at your PC, the list will display something like:
Microsoft Powerpoint - [Budget.ppt]
if the user wants to share the sales.ppt presentation, the other meeting participants will see nothing but a gray screen. However, if the user chooses the " Microsoft Powerpoint - [Budget.ppt]" entry, and then changes to the sales.ppt in Powerpoint (using window menu) the sales.ppt is displayed on meeting participants' screens as well.
So there is a workaround, but is there a way to limit the contents in the Share Program list to only the 'viewable programs' running on the client PC ?
I noticed a Knowledge base entry with something similar, but it had to do with a program called LeapFTP, and Lotus disregarded that as not a significant problem, but if the same things happens for Excel and Powerpoint (but not MS-word, strangely enough) maybe they should take a look at it again.
Does anyone 'share' these experiences ? Any help would be appreciated.
