Sametime user population - test environment
Ray Scott 1.Mar.10 05:01 AM a Web browser
Sametime Entry 8.5 Windows

Many thanks for the feedback - very appreciated!

I have put together a test environment but cannot get connected to Sametime.

The scenario is that I have my production Domino 8.5.1 server.
I do a tell ldap showconfig on this and I get:
[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Listening on TCP/IP port 389
[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Anonymous access over TCP/IP is ENABLED

[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Return UTF8 results to LDAPv2 clients is ENABLED
[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Maximum referral URLs returned is 1

[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Schema enforcement is ENABLED

[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Activity log truncates attribute values at 4096 bytes
[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Activity logging is DISABLED
[0C04:0002-0E60] 01/03/2010 09:48:25 LDAP Server: Dereferencing Aliases on search requests is DISABLED

I have now got another box with Domino 8.5.1 and Sametime 8.5.

I have set Sametime to use LDAP and it points to my production server:

I can see I have a Directory Assistance database (da.nsf) and it points to my production box and if I go to the LDAP tab and verify against the hostname I get a success response.

Through the Sametime web interface, I see that LDAP is pointin to the production Domino server and authentication is looking for: (&(objectclass=organizationalPerson)(|(cn=%s)(givenname=%s)(sn=%s)(mail=%s))).

On my production Domino LDAP configuration, I have anonymous users able to see cn, givenName, sn and mail amongst other fields.

I point my Notes client Sametime integrated client (8.5.1 FP1 / 8.0.2) to my Sametime server and I am using my username and Internet password to attempt to connect to the Sametime server but I am getting a response of "Unable to access Sametime due to incorrect logon."

So, I think I'm nearly there?
