RE: Moving to Sametime 9 Pam Assivero 14.Jul.14 12:47 PM a Web browser Sametime Standard 8.5.2 IFR1Windows
Thank you for your indepth response. I apologize for not getting back here, but I was pulled away to some other projects.
I was trying to get similar info/advice from IBM and opened a PMR as advised during a webcast, but was being told to speak with Sales. That really wasn't helpful.
However, your answer was definitely the kind of information I was looking for. And your link is exactly what I was hoping to find.
I'm not sure if you'll see this, but our environment is quite small. We have 300 Notes users, of which maybe 100 use ST chat functionality daily. There are probably a third of that that use the meeting functionality. We're not talking a lot of meetings, maybe 25-30 a month. And I'd say 95% of these meetings involve people connecting within our WAN.
Knowing I can at least combine Websphere, DB2, SCC and ST Proxy on one server helps.
Our entitlement is Complete, so I can download anything I need to make this work.
I did find out that I can always at the AV component at a later date, which is good. So knowing it can reside on it's own server is helpful.
As for DNS, we only have one dns entry for our current server, so registering new ones isn't a big deal if that's required.
How many Domino servers are required in this setup?
I'm sure there is something else I should be asking.
