Why is it documented that STLinks would not want your homeserver name? If you're getting logged into STLinks, then it is work no? What is not working about ST Links, your issue is still that you are getting logged off right, not that a function of STLinks isn't working?
What version of connect client are you using? Ensure it is the latest one that came with the server.
The reason why you would typically get logged off are all the reasons Brett has outlined, different IP logging in, often related to things like NAT and DHCP timing. No home Sametime Server set. Possibly the directories being used on the two servers are not the same, one is LDAP and one is Domino for example.
