Peter Lock 8.Dec.10 08:16 PM a Web browser Sametime Entry 8.5.1 Windows
We have a unique situation here that I thought someone may be able to help with.
I have setup 2 sametime servers (Sametime Entry 8.5.1) into a cluster and using a VIP to access. So we have
Server1: SametimeServer1/SERVERS IP=220.127.116.11
Server2: SametimeServer2/SERVERS IP=18.104.22.168
Cluster name: Sametime_Cluster
VIP: sametime.acme.com IP=22.214.171.124
I have then setup the sametime community to sametime.acme.com and everything works well.
Sadly this is only for the client when running "Standard Mode". The client here is using the "Basic Mode" as they have some machine that don't meet the hardware spec.
What happens in Basic mode is that the Sametime embedded client will attempt to connect to sametime.acme.com. It then receives a Domino servername say SametimeServer1/SERVERS with an IP of 126.96.36.199. It then bombs out saying the sametime address (for the VIP of sametime.acme.com) of 188.8.131.52 does not match the IP address of servername SametimeServer1/SERVERS of 184.108.40.206
Is this a limitation of the "Basic Mode"? Can a clustered Sametime configuration be used by a client in "Basic Mode". If so how can I get around the server IP resolution issue?
