I realize Ubuntu is not a supported platform, but I have users running it (7.10, aka Gutsy Gibbon) and would like to get the 8 client working if possible.
With 7.5.1-1 client RPM, it was easily installed using alien. Only issue I found was with setting the geographic location.
With the 8 client RPM, alien chokes during the install. I don't have the exact errors (will try to post them later).
If anyone else could confirm the same issue, offer any resolutions, or anything helpful it would be appreciated.
