Server 9.0 Windows

A little background:

- I have approx. 300 users who use the Notes Client 8.5.x embedded SameTime client. They all use Token based SSO.

- I currently have a Domino 8.5.3 server running SameTime 8.0.2 on Windows 2003

Everything works great. My plan is to migrate this Domino server to Windows 2008 R2 and upgrade Domino to 9.0.1 (64 bit) and SameTime 9.0.

The problem is that the documentation is completely overwhelming. All that I want is for my existing Notes 8.5.x clients running embedded SameTime to be able to chat with each other. We don't use any of the A/V conferencing, no mobile users, no online meetings or meeting rooms, etc. Literally just want the user's presence to show in the Notes client and the ability for users to chat with each other.

From what I have gathered so far, I need to install DB2 and SameTime System Console on it's own server. One of my Domino servers (not the SameTime server) runs LDAP, so I have that covered. After that, I can install SameTime (Complete or Limited Use) on top of the Domino server.

Questions:

Is my plan above accurate? Two servers, one with DB2 and System Console and then SameTime server on my Domino server?

Should I be using SameTime Complete or Limited Use? I can't really find a difference between the two, and maybe it has something to do with licensing/entitlement.

Will my existing 8.5.x clients be able to connect to the new 9.0 ST server using the Notes embedded client (i.e. they are compatible)?

In the user's Community Profile in the Notes client, what server does the user actually log into (i.e. should they be logging into the System Console server or the Domino server)?

Will token based SSO (option in the Notes client) continue to work? We force our users to change their passwords every 90 days and I don't want my users to have to update their SameTime password every time they change their computer passwords.

Thanks in advance for any responses. I have spent 2 days going through the documentation only to come out more confused than when I went in. It seems like a lot of the guides and such are tailored for huge organizations and it's really tough to determine what you need for a chat/presence via the Notes embedded client only deployment.
