RE: Chat History settings changing
Ben Williams 12.Jun.15 04:40 AM Lotus Notes
Sametime Standard 9.0 Windows

Hi Pam,

I have found that the same thing has started happening to me. I put it down to me working on a migration project for a customer and blamed my fiddling with C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Notes\Data\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\ but it makes no sense.

I manually changed the value in my client but noticed that it reverts every time. I then made the change in and again it changes back.

I enabled trace in client to print out managed settings data but this was a little useless as there was nothing obvious. Also, my company do not use managed-settings,xml to control peoples Sametime clients so it's not this that is changing the value. Even if we used managed-settings.xml then it would either be locked or it would be a one time change and I would know about the change if any was made.

I tried "whacking the workspace" but it still happens.

I've yet uninstalled Notes and copied the relevant files and databases into a new Data directory but that will be my next step.

If I had more time on my hands I'd look into it further but until then.....

I'm glad someone else has noticed this as I prefer saving to my mail file so it's available on the server rather than locally.
