Sametime Audio options disappear

Has anyone had an issue where the Sametime Audio Preferences just disappear from the Preferences when using the Sametime Embedded Client for Notes?
The only way to get them back is by deleting out all the workspace directory (because I can't find which .plugins directory is responsible) and after a reboot it reappears again & is configurable. But obviously the user has lost all their settings and needs to reconfigure.
This keeps happening - with no apparent pattern to why.
I know 1 reason that causes it, is by connecting to 2nd community that doesn't support Audio (not the Default community) - which is a real pain.
But this has also happened to Notes Clients that are only logging into the default community.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, either for why it happens at all, or even some help as to which directory is responsible for these settings.
Any help is greatly appreciated as always.
