General All Releases Windows

I have an old (version 7) SameTime server that, for obvious reasons, I need to replace.

The plan is for a fresh server build. It is to be used for chat and presence awareness only. The clients and other Domino servers are all 8.5.3

At first, I was going to install ST 8.5, but I kept reading about needing WebSphere servers, and DB2 servers, etc. Far more that I want to get involved in. And, to top it off, all of my Domino 8.5.3 servers are 64-bit, and apparently ST only works with 32-bit Domino, so I was going to need another Domino server, too. Blech. Then I read somewhere that Domino 9 included the ST capabilities for chat and presence awareness. But, the Quick Start Guide says "14. (Optional) Install an IBM Sametime® server. Required if you want awareness and chat in the Notes client." so apparently it's not included.

I just want the users to be able to utilize the chat and presence awareness capabilities that are included as part of the entitlement with their Notes clients. So, what do I need to install? TIA.
