orhan coskun 30.Nov.11 10:37 AM a Web browser
Sametime Standard 8.5.2 Windows

Hello,

I have a cluster of Meeting Server and in addition 2 Websphere proxies on separate machines.
I use an alias stmeeting.coskun.com to access the meeting room servers through the websphere proxies.

If I use Internet Explorer 8 and join a meeting room, I cannot download anything from the meeting room Library: an error occurs mentioning "Internet Explorer cannot download 1322646807193" from stmeeting.coskun.com. Internet explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

This problem does not occur with Firefox or Chrome and the embedded Sametime in Notes or the Standalone client...only with Internet Explorer.

And one other thing, if I select "-> Tools -> InPrivate Browsing" and open the meeting room, I can download...strange.
This workaround solves the problem but can not be communicated to 10'000 users.

It also works if I enter one meeting server name in the URL (stmeeting1.coskun.com) without using the alias stmeeting.coskun.com.

When I use a Web Debugger and click download in the Meeting Room Library, I can get the information below:

HTTP/200 responses are cacheable by default, unless Expires, Pragma, or Cache-Control headers are present and forbid caching.

HTTP/1.0 Expires Header is present: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT

HTTP/1.1 Vary Header is present: cache.http.internal.variant

The cache MUST contact the server to verify freshness unless the value of the headers named match those of the request that generated the cache entry.

Note: IE has limited support for Vary.

!! WARNING: Responses which VARY should specify an ETAG to enable conditional revalidation requests.

This response contains neither an ETAG nor a Last-Modified time. This will prevent a Conditional Revalidation of this response.

Any idea would be appreciated.
