Paul X Gagnon 13.Feb.07 03:59 PM a Web browser Client 7.0 AIX
One of my clients has a question about security and what should be an obvious answer is eluding me.
Server is 7.0.2 on AIX with ST 7.0 Limited installed, single box. We have enabled SSL (443) on the server and are allowing connections to 443 and Notes(1352 w/Encryption). Now to allow the sametime connect client that is built into notes to connect we are entertaining the need to open 1533.
"Is it secure to open a port to allow the IM client to attach to our server from the internet?"
Are the sametime logon credentials sent in open text across the internet over 1533 and is any chat activity between an internal user on the network and external user on the internet readable by anyone using a network tool such as a sniffer?
