I am kind of new to this and know this should be an enhancement request of some kind. Please point me to the correct location so I can submit this.
Sametime (ST) contact lists are made up of static lists of people which we have to add manually. What if we could add a function starting with dynamic groups?
For example, I contact someone on my ST list rarely for a specific problem. If that person happens to change managers, if I go to contact them again, they may not longer support the product I have questions about. So I have to go find a different resource for help.
If a manager created a ST group which included all his direct reports and as a direct report moves to a different manager, that ST group would dynamically change, the ST group which I add to my contact list would always be correct.
It would seem that this could be implemented relatively easy with an LDAP backend. My relevant example, would be the Bluepages web interface which provides the management chain of an employee. If that can be done there, why not with ST groups?
