We're going to be moving from Sametime 8.0.2 Standard to 8.5.1 Advanced and I have a couple of questions.
1. Is it best (or even possible) to simply upgrade the existing Domino 8.0.2/ST 8.0.2 machine to Domino 8.5.1/ST 8.5.1 or should the setup be done on all new servers? If I do simply upgrade the existing ST server I assume this would be the "Machine 1" system I've outlined below (Domino + Community). We're trying to minimize the amount of downtime users will experience during the upgrade.
2. We only need the Community and Meeting server portions of Sametime. We'll be using an existing Domino 8.5.1 server as our LDAP server. I'm thinking of installing Sametime on 2 machines in the following configuration…
Machine 1:
Domino 8.5.1 + Community Server
Machine 2:
DB2 + WAS + ST System Console + Meeting Server
Do you see any problems with that configuration?
Any hints/tips/advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
