RE: Persistent Chat / Chat Room - Can one be setup?

This is a much quicker and compatible choice, depending on the requirements :

Well I have done a few StAdv installs and I believe it is a useful product but there are a few gotchas, in fact I am really miffed with IBMs upkeep of the product and it has fallen behind, so we have left it where it left off. I spent a lot of time with this product but people want Notes & Domino 8.5.0... incompatible.

It is very particular on the client version, so no Notes / Sametime 8.0.2, Notes 8.5.0.
StAdv 8.0.0 = Notes & Sametime 8.0.0 Only
StAdv 8.0.1 (+CF1) = Notes & Sametime 8.0.1 Only

I understand that there has been a great improvement with the addition of an embedded XUL broswser into Notes 8.5.0 & ST 8.0.2... thank-you but where are the compatible StAdv plug-ins ? Hmmm should I dare installing them if there is a Notes 8.5.1 client or an 8.5.0 HF (not that I need an HF on Ubuntu... works fabulously) ?

Every post of mine has got long grass and moss around it. I have a server sitting gathering dust.

The pitfalls of the lovely StAdv (I do like it honestly):
[1] A Lovely big beast which takes 4 to 5 hours to install a single server (yes I have loooooooads of practice... even got commands prepared in text)

[2] Compatibility issues with versions of Notes / Sametime requirements for every day use

[3] Firefox 2... What ?

[4] No LDAP group nor o nor ou security on the Chat Room Hierarchy, but I heard that this will be resolved in the next version

[5] US date display, but I heard that this will be resolved in the next version

[6] May be a config issue on my server but the WAS LTPA is adding "c=US" to the user (Domino 8.5 LDAP)... or related to [5] ? Not time to look at this cause no one can use it. Too busy with 8.5.0.

It is worth looking into honestly and like everything it will hopefully get better.
