At the moment we are using Sametime Entry for IT only.

Now some other departments are requesting a chat feature and we are planning to deploy Sametime for the whole company (Sametime Standard or Advanced).

Are there any possibilites to restrict the awareness feature and still use chat and other features ?

For example, would it be possible to setup communities/groups on the Sametime server, so that only members of a certain group are seeing each others awareness status ?

The problem is, that it would be a tough fight to roll out Sametime in the whole company, if every user can see each other users awareness status.
Maybe this would kill the project right before the start.

Kind regards
Ingo Spichal
