RE: Some shared screens show as white or grey Pam Assivero 16.Nov.15 12:19 PM a Web browser Sametime Standard 9.0Windows
Our servers are accessible externally.
Our users can connect using a browser or a Notes client (depending on how it was setup).
And users don't have to be on VPN.
This user happens to use VPN 90% of the time. But we have split tunnelling, so anything in a browser shouldn't be using it anyway.
I had her try and connect while connected and disconnected from the VPN, as well as by using her Notes client and using a browser. No scenario worked. I also tried with my client from my desk and I'm located where the server is. I was getting the white screen where the shared screen should have been displayed.
I'm convinced this has nothing to do with Sametime but is a by product of excessive traffic on our network. Someone in our Atlanta office was downloading a 2+GB file without asking if it was okay. I'm pretty it was happening during this time but have no way of proving it.
Of course, I can't prove this to my manager and he's insisting that I open a PMR.
