RE: Groups/UserInfo from Domino and Active Directory only for passwords? Ben Williams 25.Jan.16 08:19 AM Lotus Notes Administration 9.0All Platforms
That is not possible. Either you use Domino or AD for LDAP. You cannot differentiate between groups and users in different LDAPs. You can of course use both ensuring that users only exist in one or the other and not both but that's not what you are trying to do.
What is your problem? You have only proposed a solution.
Is the problem that you do not want to update passwords in Domino any more BUT you do want to continue using it for all your groups? If so then you could look at using TDI to synchronise the two directories by either injecting AD passwords into your person docs in Domino or adding groups and group membership to AD from Domino, using TDI.
Many customers have decided to stop using Domino as an LDAP source and move to AD. The worst effect on Sametime is the buddy lists. You can pay for them to be converted of you could force users to recreate them adding AD groups to their buddy lists once you migrate to the new AD Community server.
Most customers seem to have a more robust method of AD administration then they do Domino.
