Hi,
I am unable to install the Sametime meeting room plugin in all major browser, IE, Firefox and Chrome. In IE I get a prompt to install the plugin but after that the setup window appears but It does not do anything and the plugin does not install. In Firefox I also get a prompt to install the plugin but then Firefox says the plugin is corrupt. The plugin stopped working in Chrome some time ago with a smiliar error.
I have opend a PMR because of this and Sametime Development is looking into this issue. They plan to release a technote to solve this by altering browser/os settings as I understand it. From my point of view this is an unacceptable solution because in my Sametime environment, only external users are using browsers to attend Sametime meetings. I, as an admin, have no control over external users' comptuers and for them having to follow a technote and alter browser/os settings to attend meetings is totally unacceptable as they might not even have access rights to alter browser/os settings. Easy installation of the browser plugin is mandatory.
As it stands now, nobody is able to attend meetings via browser in my environment.
Is anyone else having these issues?
p.s. I am using Sametime 9 and the latest version of the meetings server.
