We have neither blacklist nor whitelist in the community server (I can't find sametime.ini on the Gateway - did you mean some other config file perhaps). I have tried to see whether adding a blacklist with the external domains (and whitelist with local domains) makes a difference but alas!
Latest condition is we can get incoming messages from external community, and they can see our status. We can chat. We can't see their status.
We can't initiate a chat with external users - still have no ability as described in the documentation to enter an email address and check a box to say it's external. Rejection of the address comes much to fast for this to be a gateway issue imo.
