Hello!
I have some questions regarding Sametime 8.5.2 and I hope that anybody can pinpoint me to the right sources.
1) What is the difference between Sametime Embedded 8.5.1 and 8.5.2?
For example:
a) If servers (incl WebSphere servers) is still on 8.5.1 does the users gain anything in Meetings, Nat-traversal etc?
b) Can 8.5.1 and 8.5.2 A/V chat with each other if server is on 8.5.1? But what about if server is on 8.5.2?
2) Is there a step-by-step upgrading guide for upgrading Sametime servers (incl WebSphere) 8.5.1 to 8.5.2?
For example:
a) Customer wants to enjoy the new A/V enhached Web Meetings, what is the minimum amount of steps we have to perform?
b) The Zero-to-Hero guide for 8.5.2 covers just new installations, do I really have to remove everything and do a new install just to get the 8.5.2 infrastructure in place. The Sametime manual is not so detailed how to do this.
3) A/V Enhached Web Meetings
Which browser does it actually work with? I can se this warning message:
SPECIAL NOTE:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, Apple Safari and Google Chrome are not supported with the Sametime Audio/Video Browser Plugin in this actual Sametime Version 8.5.2.
We do not support any Linux based OS now for Browser A/V.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 should work and is officially supported. But it is not recommended to use this version because it can cause issues when several parallel connections needs to be established with the meeting server.
In practice which browsers does work? Have anyone got this working on Linux?
4) Do I need to update DB2 to version 9.7? Is there any improvements from upgrading from 9.5 to 9.7 from a Sametime administrators perspective?
