RE: External domains not recognized when adding contacts
Hyman Kaye 22.Jul.15 10:57 AM a Web browser
Sametime Connect Client 9.0 Windows

Like I said earlier - external OCS people can see our presence, initiate chats, and we can reply. This seems to me to indicate that SIP pathway is OK.

Regarding inability to connect from our users outwards - I have set gateway trace level to "all", but there are no entries happening when I try a connect from a Sametime client - which just rejects "unknown domain". This is why I am sure it's an internal problem - ldap says it's an unknown domain, and the request is not forwarded to the gateway.

I have tried one more thing - which is to add a known external user into the ldap directory. Now I can add this contact to a Connect user, but can't chat, because the presence reports it "offline".

It looks like the OCS instance we are trying to talk to currently has an issue broadcasting their own presence - nothing to do with my end. So for the moment, I can concentrate on why we can't initiate a chat, if you can think of somewhere else to look in my configuration.
