During application sharing you have an option to Select the Best Speed, the Highest Quality or Auto which is the recommended setting. To get a little boost in application sharing select the Best Speed option. This will increase application sharing and the quality will not be the best but it will look fairly decent. The Highest Quality option will give you a better look and feel for you audience. Auto is already selected when you have chosen to do application sharing. So next time look for these settings and try them out.
