How do I use the Sametime Audio/Video Conferencing option in a meeting?

If a meeting room has Sametime® Audio/Video Conferencing as the service provider option associated with it, then meeting room participants join the audio call using their computers. If video is available, the video starts as soon as they join the call. With this option, no one can call in to the meeting using their telephones.

If a meeting room has Sametime® Audio/Video Conferencing as the service provider option associated with it, then meeting room participants join the audio call using their computers. If video is available, the video starts as soon as they join the call. With this option, no one can call in to the meeting using their telephones.

When a meeting room is initially set up, the meeting room owner can specify Sametime Audio/Video Conferencing as service provider option in the New Meeting Room dialog box.

Alternatively, meeting room owners and managers can change the service provider option associated with an existing meeting room from within the meeting room. Read here to learn how to do this.
  1. In a meeting room, click Meeting Tools -> Change Room Settings.
  2. Click Voice and Video.
  3. For Service Providers, select Sametime Audio/Video Conferencing .
  4. Click OK.
To start the call for everyone, the meeting room owner or manager must click Join call icon to start the audio call using their computer so that other participants can join. If video is available, the video starts as soon as they join the call.
