Currently, TM collects stored data from specific components of a network namely the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony system, Branch, Phones and RG8700 Gateways. The advantage of TM is the availability of all data regarding a particular problem all at once. This expedites the analysis and diagnosis of the root cause of the problem.
Benefits of TM are:
Long-term storage of Telephony Control Server trace files to support error debugging by Telephony Control Server development
Fast identification of trace files containing data associated with a particular call, error condition or time frame
Export of trace files to a remote server (e.g. SEN customer service or development server).
Database queries to find and display calls and SIP registrations filtered by DN, time, and error condition.
Graphical display of Telephony Control Server signaling and registration traffic supporting easy recognition of network failures and/or abnormalities.
Improved diagnosis capability helping in the identification and resolution of root causes of field error conditions.
The data collected by TM are used primarily to identify error causes. Once proper corrective action is taken, the trace data are no longer needed and eventually deleted.
