The List Data Screen displays the analyzed trace data in a time ordered list format.
This screen displays all analyzed data regardless of whether call records were created. One display pane shows a summarized list of the trace records, and the other shows the details of any selected record. Filtering and Highlighting options allow selected data to be isolated and displayed.
The Trace Records Summary List
window displays a summarized list of all trace records in the currently analyzed trace file. This list includes the record’s timestamp, the record type, the snd/rcv indicator, the record sender, the record receiver, and a short summary of the record data itself. Clicking on any displayed record in this list will select that record and display its details in the Trace Record Detail Display window.
The Trace Record Detail Display
window displays the details of any trace record selected in the Trace Records Summary List window. The entire Perl trace record is displayed for the selected trace record.
The Displayed Data Type Selection
options allow the user to select the type of data to be displayed in the list. The drop down list allows the user to select "All" to display all records, "Msgs_only" to display only message data, or "Process_data_only" to display only the ASCII process data.
The List Data Filter and Highlight Options
allow the user to selectively filter of highlight the displayed trace data list based on facility name, process name, and or selected text in the record data. The facility and process names lists are populated from the actual trace data so only values found in the trace data may be selected in these fields. The "Data" field uses substring matching so the value entered here will match if the string is found anywhere in the trace records data. Regular expression syntax can also be used here by enclosing the text in "/" characters allowing more complex data matching criteria to be used.
Once one or more filter conditions have been selected, they can be applied to the current trace data list by using the Filter List
, or Highlight List
buttons. The Filter List
button will filter the displayed trace data list allowing only those records that meet the selected filter conditions to be displayed. The Highlight List
button will highlight in green those trace records in the list that match the selected filter criteria. This allows selected trace data to be easily located within a large list. Highlighting is applied independently from Filters so a list can be filtered first, and then selected records highlighted in the filtered data.
Finally, the list data filter conditions may be cleared to their default values using the "Clear Filters
" button. Once used, either the Filter List
and/or Highlight List
buttons must be used to refresh the trace data list.
