This TM V2R0.4.5 release supports the following components:
Multiple instances of Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony systems: several Telephony Control Server nodes can be configured for tracing
Multiple Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony systems with RG8700 tracing enabled, supporting multiple RG8700 devices
Multiple Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony systems with Phone trace enabled, supporting multiple Phone devices for QoS
Multiple Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony systems with Branch tracing integration
Trace Management Portal (FADE) web interface enhancements:
System Graphs were removed from the "Main" view for faster login to FADE. The systems graphs can now be accessed from the "Graph" tab in "Telephony Control Server" view.
An HTML version of the TM Users Guide and Administrators Guide is now hosted locally in the server. A "Help" link was added to the Trace Management Portal menu bar to open the Users Guide, and different Help links on the "Administration" point to the Administrators Guide for reference.
The "Continuous Tracing" tab was added to the Administration view to provide on-line help references on how to configure tracing for "Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony" and "Branch".
The adding and removing TM systems functionality is now done through FADE via the Administration view -> Manage_TM_System tab.
Data Base Engine: The major change in V2.0 is the use of the SQLite 3rd party software as the database engine for TM.
Operating Systems: Support of Windows 2008 R2 64bit Server was added in addition to the already supported Windows 2003 SP2 32bit.
OS Language Support: Windows 2003 & Windows 2008 R2 US English and German Language installations are now supported. However, the FADE Application itself supports English only.
DIPAZ, the trace data processor engine, was enhanced for performance improvement.
The DIPAZ Monitor now cleans up the database entries and trace data files when a system is removed.
Some of the Quasi-Real-Time performance graphs were renamed or eliminated for clarity. The following graphs are provided in this version:
Calls - Summary of Calls
Media Packet Traffic
Media Packet Quality
New and Stable Calls
Graphs description and information was enhanced and now provides tips on what to look for, and how to find abnormalities in the graph data. The help text is provided via the "Help" button on the "Graph Type" field.
The small memory leak exception that was identified in TM V1R2 and V1R3 with Internet Explorer (IE) when the Graphs' AutoPlay or AutoRefresh features are run for a long period of time has been addressed in the V2.0 version.
If the DIPAZ Monitor detects an IE session that is left overnight (12:00 AM) on a Telephony Control Server_TM server, and the server's available RAM memory is less than 250MB, the Monitor will identify the IE session(s) consuming 100MB of RAM or greater and will close it.
The leak becomes more precarious when shorter refresh periods are used (30 sec to 2.5 minutes) or the server's load is large (multiple TM systems configured).
This version provides a semi-silent TM application installation. Minimal user intervention is required.
Trace date file can be downloaded via HTTP with the "Save As" functionality. The downloaded files will be zipped into a single packet.
Due to licensing restrictions and to better comply with security requirements, the following 3rd party applications will no longer be included in the TM installation package:
The Tracedata storage folder is no longer automatically shared on new TM server installations. This accessibility feature was removed due for security and data confidentiality preservation. TM systems upgraded from previous versions will retain the shared configuration.
SFTP trace data file transfer to TM is now supported for Telephony Control Server as well as FTP. The administrator has the option to switch between SFTP or FTP mode.
FTP is used for Telephony Control Server 8.0 transferring.
The .NET framework 3rd party software is no longer included in the TM install package. New installations will require manual download and installation as a pre-requisite for TM.
The behavior of the FADEs' "Download via FTP" functionality to download trace files to a client machine has changed. The Tracedata storage folder is no longer shared, so files FTPed to the same TM server will no longer be accessed remotely via the UNC path (\\<server>\Tracedata\
). An FTP transaction will be required to get the files.
The FTP configuration window was removed from the administration screen. Users will have to provide the FTP server IP address and account when using the "Download via FTP" functionality.
The OpenSSH application is not supported on Windows 2008 and has been replaced by the FreeSSH SFTP software. This 3rd application is included and installed with the TM package on both Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 R2 environments.
Windows 2008 server has stronger security configuration rules; all ports required by TM are automatically opened on the server during the TM installation.
