For subscribers who want added network security, the Telephony Control Server provides SRTP (Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol) as a means to secure its media traffic.
SRTP (Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol) OverviewParent topic: Security topics
SRTP (Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol) in the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony solution involves the coordination of SRTP implementation across multiple products. SRTP provides a framework for encryption and message authentication of RTP (Real-Time Transport Protocol) and RTCP (Real-Time Transport Control Protocol). Media encryption is entirely controlled by the media endpoints; the role of the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony server is only to facilitate the negotiation of encryption parameters between the endpoints.
