Configure the physical server that will host a virtual Telephony Application Server.
About this task
The virtualized deployment is hardware independent, so specific instructions for configuring the physical server cannot be provided; however, the use of VMware requires that the server meet a particular set of requirements. For details about the required configuration of a physical server that will host a VMware ESXi 4.0 virtual machine, see the topics in the Requirements for the virtualized Telephony Application Server
For best performance in a large virtualized deployment, make sure your virtual machines provide at least 4vCPU and 10 GB of RAM for a Telephony Application Server, and at least 8 vCPU and 10 GB of RAM for a Media Server. Hyperthreading should be disabled on the CPUs.
On both the Telephony Application Server and the Media Server, the FrameworkContainer
value in the DaemonConfig.xml
file should be set as follows:
