What call options for meetings are available?Added by IBM on September 19, 2013 | Version 1 (Original)
|When you create a meeting room, there are one or more options for participants to call into the audio portion of the meeting.
Call by computer
- If the meeting room uses the service provider Sametime® Audio/Video Conferencing, click Join Call to join the audio conference by computer. If video is available, the video starts as soon as you join the call. With this option, no one can call in to the meeting by telephone.
- If the meeting room uses a third-party, integrated audio and video service provider, click Join Call to join the audio conference by computer, telephone, or video device (if video is available). With this option, call control options are also available in the meeting room for both the meeting room managers and participants.
The meeting room owner chooses a service provider when they create a meeting room. To see or add service providers, see How do I add a service provider for my meeting rooms?
Add call information, so participants can call by telephone
If you are the meeting room owner, you can enter conference call information when you set up a meeting room. With this option, everyone manually calls in to the meeting by telephone. Participants click Show call-in information
under the Voice and Video
area in a meeting room to see the call-in information, such as the conference telephone number and passcode.
