Tell me about widgets and live text
A widget is a small application or tool that you can add to IBM Sametime
to provide additional functionality. If this capability is available to you, widgets can be created to do a variety of actions, including opening a Web page or installing a plug-in. Some widgets can recognize certain parts of text. This recognizable text is known as "live text". In Sametime
, live text is chat window and chat history text that displays as underlined. When you hover your mouse over the underline, a list of options (widgets) displays. Each option carries out an action against the live text.
How do I work with live text?
If you have this capability, telephone numbers, people's names, and any other recognized "content types" that appear in chat windows and chat history are automatically underlined and "live", just like a link on a Web page. Clicking the underline displays a list of options to carry out on that phone number or contact name.
How do I set preferences for live text?
If live text is available to you, you can turn it off or on and, if it is on, set the preferences for which items, or "content types," available to you are recognized as live text and how they appear.
