Immediate access for new web users upon registration

Back in 1999 / 2000, Notes.net supplied a registration template http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/sandbox.nsf/ecc552f1ab6e46e4852568a90055c4cd/e86bc032f04a90b8852567fd005ef957?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,registration

showing how to effect immediate access for users who had just created a web login account. Worked by refreshing stuff in directories right away.

Around 2003, with the release of Notes 6 I think it was, this all got bustimicated. I remember the panic it caused, broke many apps.

So one had to introduce an artificial delay of 5 to 10 minutes while the directories refreshed then send user an email saying, "okay you can come back now if you remember why you came here in the first place."

What's the scoop now; can xPages help with this in anyway to get someone logged in right away so that the artificial delay is no longer needed?

I doubt that XPages would make a difference, these are view indexes and group membership stuff in the NAB.

What I do is put in this line in my agent/whatever after creating the account/modifying groups, etc.

    Call session.SendConsoleCommand( DBOrders.Server  ,"show nlcache reset" )

Not the best for the server performance wise but user satisfaction takes precedence...
