Hello all, good morning.

I am new as Notes Design developer and I'm facing the following difficult.

I have a View that only admin should be able to see, but even if I select a specific view in a button, all views are available to be selected in the LEFT panel

How to DISABLE this LEFT panel??

:

Thank you in advance :) :)

hmm

This really isn't an XPages issue.  You would be better off posting this in one of the Notes Forums.

What version of Notes is that by they way?

You can put readers fields on views. That should effectively hide the view from people without access.  Make sure you give access to the designer and servers.  I've never done that to a view but in theory that should do what you're asking.

However what you're asking isn't true security at all.  to get to real security you need to put readers / authors fields on the documents.  That's what needs to be protected typically.  Not the views themselves.

That is Notes 4
What they should do is hide the views by putting the names in parenthesis, or as you said, if they want real security, use reader fields.

wow

Wow,  as a relatively new (10 years) notes developer, I have never seen, let alone used Notes 4!

Exactly what David and Carl have said is correct, and taking it a step further, you can use an outline to display a menu structure and then hide specific menu items with hide formula's, in this case it can probably be based on an [Admin] user role
