I have a view in an xPage that includes a column that users can click on to launch the attachment in the underlying document. That works great, thanks David Leedy for the article!

But not all my documents have attachments. In fact, I only want to display the "Launch" link text in that view column when the form is a "reference" form. The view column looks like the following - how can I display nothing in this column if it's not a reference form?

<xp:viewColumn id="viewColumn6" columnName="$128" displayAs="hidden">

<xp:link id="linkAttach" text="Launch Attachment" target="_blank">

<xp:this.value>...

got it!

I just made the text value computed with an If statement, and it works just as I want it to!

<xp:link it="linkAttach" target="_blank">

<xp:this.value>....

<xp:this.text><![CDATA[#{javascript:if(myVar.getColumnValue("$129")!=""){"Launch Attachment"}}]]><xp:this.text>
